Do you think you are an expert in social media because you post daily updates about what you ate for breakfast on Facebook? Think again. We’ve got the tips to take your knowledge about social media to a higher level.

Participants will gain a better understanding of how to use and maximize social media for career planning and succeeding as a nonprofit organization. You’ll learn best practices of using social media from experts and competent speakers and have networking opportunities.

Speakers:

Presentations are 15 minutes each, followed by Q&A and networking opportunities.

After the presentation, Career Services will help you navigate through OUCareerLink.com to get the most out of the online database.

Time & Place: April 14, 2010 • 3-6 pm • Oakland Room, Oakland University

Who: Students of all majors, faculty, and representatives of nonprofit organizations and businesses are invited to attend.

The event is sponsored by Career Services, the Journalism Department and The Oakland Post and is free for all participants.
